  • Lessons are open to kids ages 4+ through adults of any level. I tailor lessons to each student depending on musical interests and goals.

I teach violin and viola, all levels, and beginner cello.

  • No prior experience is necessary! By being present and engaged in each lesson, you will learn everything you need to know to help your child with home practice.

For very young beginners, parents are strongly encouraged to be at each lesson. For older kids, we can determine the level of parental involvement that works best for your family.

  • The Suzuki method is a music education method from Japan that gained popularity in the US in the 1960s. It is based on the philosophy that “every child can,” suggesting that children can learn to play music the same way they learn to speak, with listening and repetition.

In the Suzuki method, students learn to play by ear, incorporating note reading once fundamentals are in place. While I am a Suzuki trained teacher, I tailor lessons to each student, often introducing note reading and basic theory early in lessons.

The Suzuki method is a progression of 10 books, beginning with Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and ending with a Mozart Violin Concerto.
